Control electricity by price and other sensors - See your savings right away
Market Control Shelly now shows your savings in euros from the very first day, with no setup at all. Control is more versatile too: devices can respond to the market price, the outside temperature or, for example, the room temperature. These changes arrived in versions 1.6 and 1.7.
Savings with no setup
The app picks your region automatically and uses its typical electricity contracts:
- Primary contract: the region's typical spot-price contract.
- Comparison contract: the region's typical fixed-price contract.
Savings are the comparison contract's cost minus the primary contract's cost. You see them on the home screen for today, the last week, the last 30 days, this year and all time.
For exact figures, enter your own contract's margin and transfer price under Settings → Electricity contracts.
The price you actually pay
Prices in the app include the whole electricity bill: the market price, the supplier's margin, network transfer and electricity tax. That is why they are higher than the bare market price, and why they match what you pay on your bill.
Control by price and other data
With rules, you can control a device based on different inputs, for example:
- The market price: heat during the cheapest hours, or whenever the price is below a limit.
- The outside temperature: heat for more hours in a frost than in mild weather.
- The room temperature: heat regardless of price if the room gets too cold.
- The water temperature: add more heating quarter-hours per day if the hot water does not get hot enough.
An inexpensive Shelly H&T (first generation) is enough to measure the room temperature. It connects straight to a Shelly relay, with no separate Shelly account needed.
40 electricity markets
The app supports 40 electricity markets and price zones across Europe. Pick your country first, then your area, which is described by the cities in it.
